Mountain Fruits Pakistan - Organic Farming Traceability

Since 1999 Mountain Fruits in Pakistan has been working with local farmers to create an export market for their products. In this time their products have been sold to international businesses all over the world.

Throughout this time Mountain Fruits have worked with Orixa Systems, from it's earliest iterations as a supply-chain and traceability management tool.

Director of Mountain Fruits Sher Ghazi described Orixa as "my most valuable tool in running my business".

What does Mountain Fruits Use Orixa For?

  1. Traceability. All raw material purchases from all farmers are recorded by factory, collection centre and field officer staff using Orixa systems for digital data recording. These records are then the basis for on-going tracking of batches of products through processing, sorting and packaging.
  2. Fair trade and Organic Certification management. Field officers record farmer's field and production details using Orixa Apps. When farmers attend training their attendance is recorded using Orixa. This allows farmer-management to be done more easily, with fewer issues and without having to review and check through mountains of paperwork whenever a farmer needs to be referenced.
  3. Export stock management. Once processed export product can be dispatched with a full integrity traceability built in, all product batches are numbered automatically, allowing easy dispatch of product.
  4. Phytosanitary and quality system record keeping. Mountain Fruits uses Orixa to record Continuous Improvement issues as part of a HACCP system. This allows the company to manage an active improvement process, capturing and responding to quality issues which have occurred throughout the life-time of the business.
