Companies Using Orixa

African Users

Orixa began as a system for a UK food business, but was subsequently extended for use by African food businesses.

The system has been in-used in successful businesses there since about 2001.

Systems used by African customers focus on agricultural commodities and food-product processing.

Our systems focus on food supply-chains, with specific competences relating to food quality, food safety, Fairtrade, Organic, HACCP and ISO audits. However we have also built systems for general monitoring and evaluation of project and business data such as work for NGOs monitoring the livelihoods of rural populations in Northern Uganda.

United Kingdom Customers

Orixa Systems allow UK customers to meet challenging British Retail Consortium (BRC) and other high-level quality requirements.

Users include food manufacturers and food brands, to-date mainly within the Fairtrade and Organic food-sector.

Orixa is also used within the customer and supply chain management systems for these businesses.

Asian Customers

Our work has spanned Africa, Asia and Latin America & the Caribbean, and included working in, especially challenging contexts such as Afghanistan, Samoa and Pakistan. Though with a natural focus on dried fruits and nuts, it has also spanned a wide variety of other agricultural supply chains. Our work has also focused on Organic, Fairtrade and other ethical supply chains, as well as conventional supply chains.

Orixa systems were used in Fairtrade compliance system implemented at Parwan Raisin and Kunduz Almond Producer Coop with Mercy Corps and USAID and Afghanistan’s first Fairtrade certified almonds were exported with control provided by Orixa systems.

Orixa worked alongside wider project components to develop safe production and handling methods that guaranteed product quality would reach international standards, then helped implement control systems nuts processed into high-value seed-oils met ths standards needed to be sold to the body-care industry in Europe.
